Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 26, 2026
1. Introduction
Echofy ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines our transparent approach to data collection, usage, and safeguarding when you use our mobile application and website.
2. Information We Collect
Echofy is built with a privacy-first mindset:
- Local Data Storage: Your playlists, playback history, downloaded audio, dynamic theme settings, and favorites remain stored locally on your device unless you choose to sync them.
- Account Information: If you voluntarily authenticate (e.g. YouTube Music, Spotify, or Last.fm), we receive session credentials used solely on your device to query your playlists and library directly from their official APIs.
- Voice Assistant (Hey Jarvis): Voice commands and hotword detection run locally on your device or via standard on-device Android speech recognition. Audio streams are not recorded or sold.
- Echofy Jam Together: When joining a live shared session, room codes and playback synchronization signals (timestamp, play/pause state) are relayed in real-time through secure WebSocket/P2P channels without logging your personal conversations.
3. Third-Party Services & APIs
Echofy interacts with legitimate public APIs to fetch track metadata and audio streams:
- YouTube / YouTube Music API: Used to stream audio and retrieve album metadata.
- Spotify Web API: Used strictly for playlist reading when authorized by the user.
- Google AdMob: May display non-intrusive advertisements in compliance with Google Play Developer Program policies.
4. Data Security
We implement industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) for all network communications. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third parties.
